Three years ago the Russel family was hit with a situation that no parent wishes to face. Our son, Cole, was diagnosed with cancer at age 7. After receiving this shocking news we reached out to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit to handle his case. With the help of great doctors and the love of our family, Cole bravely battled this disease for the past three years, but it is a battle that he will face for years to come. We are overjoyed that his prognosis is positive, but we have also come to realize that not every child is as fortunate as our son. We wanted to do something to help other families facing this tragic situation and so we have partnered with Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit to host a benefit to raise funds to help find new ways to treat and cure children afflicted by this dreaded disease.
Our event will take place at Russel Toyota on Sunday, June 5, 2011, starting at 5PM. Our goal is to raise $100,000 for a program that will bring the best and brightest doctors to Johns Hopkins to help us in this fight with pediatric cancer.
This promises to be a fun-filled evening with dinner stations from 10 different area restaurants, open bar, silent & live auctions, live music and dancing!
